May 19, 1919, marks a historic turning point when the Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk landed in Samsun and lit the torch of independence, laying the foundations of the Republic of Türkiye. Atatürk’s dedication of this meaningful day to the youth stands as the strongest testament to his unwavering trust in younger generations, whom he regarded as the guarantors of the future. May 19 is not merely a date on the calendar—it is a powerful expression of faith in the creativity, dynamism, and transformative strength of youth.
In this spirit, we at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University are proud to host the very first edition of the “May Art 19 International Interdisciplinary Online Youth Exhibition” This exhibition brings together young artists from around the world under one virtual roof, united through the universal language of art. It is a platform where students from diverse geographies come together to share their unique perspectives, creative expressions, and cultural richness.
This exhibition is not only a space for aesthetic appreciation, but also a powerful platform that reflects the intellectual depth, imagination, and artistic potential of youth. I sincerely thank all the students who participated and the academics who supported this meaningful initiative.
I truly believe that this event, shaped by the unifying and transformative power of art, will inspire young artists on their creative journeys.
To all our valued visitors, I wish you an inspiring and thought-provoking exhibition experience as you explore this meaningful collection.
